Luxury Home Tour Has Arrived

After a year of planning, the first annual Luxury Home Tour is finally here. The big event, which showcases a sweet 16 of the Bay area's most exclusive, exciting and intriguing new homes, is a joint venture of Tampa Bay Homebuyer and Greenspring Media Group.

If you're in the market for a new home and only want to consider the best of the best, then you need to attend. But even if you're not in the market, touring these magnificent homes, all of which will be fully decorated and outfitted with the latest high-tech home products, is sure to be fun and informative.

In this issue, you'll find the official Luxury Home Tour program. Passports (tickets) go on sale beginning Sept. 18 and can be purchased at any local CVS pharmacy or online at www.luxuryhometour.net.

The homes are being offered by some of the area's most renowned builders, including Alvarez Homes, Costanza Homes, Hannah Bartoletta Homes, Arthur Rutenberg Catenac/Gulfwynde, Homes by John C. Fowke, Mark Maconi Homes, Nohl Crest Homes, Sabal Homes, John Cannon Homes and David Weekley Homes. And they're located in some of the region's most sought-after communities.

So get your passport, and get ready to swoon over exquisite interiors, imaginative architecture and outrageous outdoor living areas. The Luxury Home Tour is Sept. 29 and 30 and Oct. 1, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15.

Also in this issue of Tampa Bay Homebuyer, we delve deeper into technology and explore "smart homes." And by smart, I mean Mensa-level.

Imagine touching a button and your home automatically prepares itself for the evening. Shades are drawn, temperature is adjusted, security systems activate, and lights dim. Or imagine being on vacation and logging on to the computer to check how things are at home-room by room, inside and out.

You'll be amazed at what's available now to make our home lives just a bit more hassle-free. In fact, smart homes can do just about everything for you except toast your bagels.

And there's more, of course.

Whether it's a million-dollar single-family home or a modern urban loft, nothing shows off your style and taste like lighting. With so many options in style and functionality, we asked the experts to review what's new in lighting design. We think you'll find the story, well, illuminating.

As always, we've got the most comprehensive new-community directory you'll find anywhere, as well as the latest FCAT scores and school grades. And our big county-by-county roundup offers a grand tour of the Bay area.

Essentially, Tampa Bay Homebuyer is our entire wonderful region packaged between two glossy covers. It's everything you need to make an informed home-buying decision.

Enjoy this issue. And I hope to see you at the Luxury Home Tour.
