Only four single-family homes remain to be built at Ashton Woods Homes’ Camden Woods community in Riverview, where new three- and four-bedroom, single-family homes range in size from 1,712 to 3,062 square feet. Prices start at $159,900.
In other Ashton Woods news, the company has only 11 single-family homesites remaining at its Fern Grove community in Valrico. Three of the oversized homesites are located on the water. New three-, four- and five-bedroom homes at Fern Grove are priced from $189,900.

David Weekley Homes has opened a new model in Riverview’s Panther Trace community. The Portland Rose is an expansive one-story plan with three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms plus a gourmet island kitchen that opens into the family room and breakfast area for casual elegance. Panther Trace amenities include a large clubhouse, a lagoon-style pool, a playground and tennis courts. Home prices start in the $220s.
BUILDERS ADDED
Seven custom-home builders have been added to the list of approved builders at Stonelake Ranch, a private 685-acre community of executive and estate homes bordering Lake Thonotosassa. The builders include: Built by Waters, Winter Haven; Hulbert Homes, Lakeland; Homes by John C. Fowke, Tampa; and Homes of Distinction, Lutz.? Also selected were Laroyce Keene Builders, Plant City; Marc Maconi Homes, Palm Harbor; and Olivera Construction, Lakeland. Just 160 executive and estate homes on homesites ranging in size from 1.5 to nearly 19 acres will be built at Stonelake Ranch at prices ranging from $500,000 to more than $5 million.
GOING GREEN
Southern Crafted Homes has launched it’s Eco-Crafted brand companywide, making Energy Star, Water Star and Florida Green Building Coalition certification standard for all of the company’s homes. “As we considered the im-pact we have on our community and the footprint we leave behind, we knew there had to be something we could do to become more environmentally responsible”, says Jim Deitch, chief operating officer for Southern Crafted Homes. “This quest for information has become a passion for promoting sustainability.” Deitch was just recognized with a special leadership award by the Tampa Bay Builders Association for his efforts on the group’s Green Building Committee and the company has been nominated for the 2009 Sustainable Florida Best Practices Award.
Clearwater Beach’s Sandpearl Resort, developed by locally-owned JMC Communities and managed by Coral Hospitality, has been awarded LEED Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Sandpearl is the first resort or hotel in Florida to achieve this designation and one of only 15 worldwide. Sandpearl Resort, which opened in August 2007, is also a designated member of the Florida Green Lodging Program.

The Montclair model is the most popular, according to company officials. One of Ryland’s Newcastle Collection, the 2,651- square-foot, single-family home offers four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a three-car garage. It’s priced at $182,990.
