The 2008 Good Neighbor Award winners gather on the stage of the Tampa Garden Club.

Tampa Bay Good Neighbor Awards

No industry gives back to the community like the building industry. Whether it’s the arts, education, social services, children’s charities or housing for the needy, builders and developers consistently lead the way in improving the quality of life for all Tampa Bay residents.

So, Florida Homebuyer Tampa Bay and the Tampa Bay Builders Association (TBBA) were pleased to recognize such efforts through the First Annual Good Neighbor Awards. The awards were presented in conjunction with TBBA’s annual installation banquet, held in November at the Tampa Garden Club. Florida Homebuyer Media LLC, Florida Homebuyer Tampa Bay’s parent company, also sponsors Good Neighbor Awards through our publications in Jacksonville and Orlando.

To kick off the recognition program in Tampa, 14 companies were honored. Despite facing a challenging real-estate market, these organizations contributed funds, volunteer hours and professional expertise to an array of important causes.

Executives and employees were busy wielding tools, running races, assembling care packages, collecting school supplies and serving in organizational leadership roles. Their efforts touched nearly every major nonprofit in the region.

And of course without the support of trade partners, who donate supplies, products and often labor, many of these good works would not have been possible.

The success of the first annual Good Neighbor Awards makes it clear that the hearts and minds of those who build Bay-area homes are truly in the right place. Below is a list of the 2008 honorees.
