Ashton Woods Homes
has acquired 34 homesites at Citrus Park
Place, located north of the Citrus Park Mall in Tampa. Michael Roche, vice president of sales and marketing for Ashton Woods Homes in the Tampa Bay region, said the model home under construction—a four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom home with 2,506 square feet of living space and a two-car garage—will showcase Ashton Woods Homes’ PowerHouse Green energy-saving features, which meet Environments for Living performance standards as well as the EPA’s Energy Star program standards for new home construction. New homes at Citrus Park Place are priced from the high $100s, Roche said.

BUILDERS
Despite the down market, Windstar Homes is designing and building multimillion-dollar custom estates at a surprisingly strong pace. In fact, the Tampa-based company recently started construction of an 8,000-square-foot, Italian Renaissance home shortly after work began on a 6,000-square-foot Tuscan manor home, both in St. Petersburg. ?And last month, a 7,000-square-foot Spanish-Colonial Revival broke ground in south Tampa, says Bobby Gross, who with partner David Lesser owns Windstar Homes. ?Despite the sputtering economy, Gross says high-end buyers’ taste for sprawling homes with fountained courtyards, expansive loggias, cutting-edge home theaters, billiards rooms, private guest casitas and other luxury appointments remains undiminished.

In a first for an Arthur Rutenberg-franchised building company and for the Tampa Bay area, Lyons-Heritage Homes has partnered with a Tampa" target="_blank">Hillsborough County developer to offer multi-acre, mini-estate packages priced from about $700,000. The program, created in conjunction with developers Charles Funk and Jeff Meehan, targets a five-home enclave at Stonelake Ranch, a 685-acre community of just 160 executive and estate homes and homesites ranging in size up to 19 acres. Homesites purchased through the program will encompass from 2 to 2.6 acres while the homes will average about 3,800 square feet. Lyons Heritage President Lori Garton says the program was made possible through increasing efficiency, thereby reducing timetables and labor costs. Buyers may choose from five award-winning Arthur Rutenberg designs.
