What sort of special elements did you need the builder to include in your home?

Art: Well, we've collected a lot of furniture over the years, so we needed a way to use it without feeling cramped. We wanted a formal dining room without it feeling too formal. Plus, my wife likes to mess around on the computer so we needed a special place for that.

Judy: I wanted an open design. It's not a particularly large house, but I wanted the sense of spaciousness.

What's your favorite room in the house?

Art: Definitely the kitchen. It has two stoves. That way my wife can cook her pies and pastries, and I can cook all the stuff I love. I make a mean lasagna. With a name like a DeVito it comes with the turf.

Judy: This is going to sound strange, but I love the laundry room. I wind up spending a lot of time there and it is bright and cheerful with plenty of storage and hanging space. You don't know how much that means to a woman.

What do you like most about living here?

Art: I like the pride of ownership that other people have in their homes and the way they keep them up. There's a great sense of community.

Judy: I like the mix of people. We have a family with children on one side, and a retired couple on the other side. It keeps things lively.
