GO WEST TO WINDERMERE
Trail Leads to Luxury and Value From Top Builders.
Central Floridians have seen plenty of master-planned communities before. But they’ve never seen anything quite like Horizon West, a huge master-planned community that encompasses 23,000 acres and will ultimately be home to more than 60,000 people.
But the real beauty of Horizon West is that it won’t feel big to residents. That’s because it consists of separate, distinct but interconnected villages served by a Town Center. Those villages will encompass dozens of neighborhoods with their own look, feel and character.
One of the most desirable new neighborhoods within Horizon West is Windermere Trails, which will offer a mix of single-family homes and townhomes by three of the region’s most respected builders as well as its own private amenities.
Some buyers got their first look at Windermere Trails in February, when Horizon West hosted a Tour of Homes that included 25 new-home neighborhoods, eight of which made their formal debut during the event.
Here’s what’s happening in Windermere Trails, with offerings from each of the three participating builders:
• Beazer Homes. Beazer is offering single-family homes in its Terrace Series and its Estate Series.
Terrace Series homes range in price from about $318,000 to about $350,000, and range in size from 2,774 to 3,005 square feet. The biggest, the two-story Whitney model, has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms as well as a two-car garage. Estate Series homes range in price from about $343,000 to about $442,000, and range in size from 2,690 to 4,934 square feet. The biggest, the two-story Wilson model, encompasses as many as six bedrooms and four bathrooms with a three-car garage.
• Mattamy Homes. Mattamy is offering 120 townhomes with detached two-car garages and private rear courtyards. Prices range from about $218,000 to about $250,000, and sizes range from 1,600 to 1,901 square feet. All have three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, and there are six floorplans from which to choose.
Buildings reflect Craftsman, French Country and Prairie style architecture, and there are lots of options available, including outdoor kitchens.
• Meritage Homes. Meritage is offering single-family homes ranging in price from about $334,000 to about $420,000, and ranging in size from 2,260 to 3,717 square feet. The smallest model, the Hemingway, has three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a two-car garage. The largest model, the Melville, has five bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and a two-car garage. Windermere Trails has its own amenities in addition to those in Horizon West, including a dog park, pool and splash pad, picnic tables and playground. Schools — Sunset Park Elementary, Bridgewater Middle and West Orange High — are all A-rated.
And of course, Horizon West itself is located near the major attractions and an array of recreational opportunities, including the Windermere Chain of Lakes and championship golf courses, including Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge.
There’s plenty of shopping at huge Winter Garden Village and quaint downtown Winter Garden in addition to stores opening in the Horizon West’s Town Center and Village Centers.
