MATTAMY'S KAYA: IT'S GENUINELY 'GRAND'

Mattamy Homes had only one entry in the 61st annual Parade of Homes, the prestigious and highly competitive showcase sponsored by the Greater Orlando Builders Association.

But one entry is all the company really needed. Its Kaya model, located in Kissimmee’s North Pointe community, won first place as Best Production Home in the $350,000-$449,999 category. Better yet, it won the Grand Award for Best Production Home regardless of price.

That’s no small feat in an event that featured more than 90 homes, most of them from production builders.

But it’s not difficult to see what impressed the judges. At 3,173 square feet, the Kaya is spacious without wasting space. And it has custom-home sensibilities, such as high ceilings and illuminated alcoves as well as two – yes, two – covered lanais flanking either side of the morning room. 

The elevation has a Craftsman-style feel, particularly the gable-roofed front porch with its tapered columns anchored by stone piers. The detailing is vintage Mattamy; tasteful and clean.

Inside, the foyer is flanked by a cozy den and a huge garage. There’s also a formal dining room and a gathering room along the home’s left side. The open kitchen, however, is literally and figuratively the center of attention. The morning room is to its rear, with large windows offering a plenty of natural light and a gorgeous view of the lanais.

To the right of the kitchen is a lavish master suite. The mud room and laundry room are tucked behind the garage. Upstairs are three more bedrooms, two more bathrooms and an oversized loft great for a kids’ play area.
