50,000 PEOPLE A YEAR MAKE A SMART CHOICE

Every year just under 50,000 people move to the Central Florida area.

Every year just under 50,000 people move to the Central Florida area. Most  move for the obvious reasons; jobs, to be closer to family,  our fabulous weather and, of course, retirement. What folks are finding once they get here simply reinforces the fact they’ve picked the right place to call home.

The Orlando metro area boasts a plethora of recreational opportunities. There are more than 100 golf courses within a 25-mile radius of the city, including some of the most prestigious PGA courses in the country.

If your idea of fun involves the water, there’s water everywhere — lakes, rivers and, nearby, east- and west-coast beaches. Professional sports teams, including basketball, baseball, football, hockey and now soccer offer enthusiasts a multitude of choices.

And for foodies, the options are boundless. World-class chefs have settled here as well, some of whom work in the area’s upscale hotels while others have built strong followings in their own establishments.

If you have to work, Central Florida offers many opportunities. The area was once known for its agricultural and tourism employment base, but things have changed in a dramatic way. High-tech, especially biomedical research, is booming, along with well-paying jobs in those industries.

Housing is also hot. And why not? Relocators are quickly finding that it’s much more affordable to own a home than it is to rent one. Best of all, homes are continuing to increase in value at a steady pace, making the area a fabulous place to buy.

And Central Florida builders are offering something for everyone — condos, townhomes and single-family homes can be found in-town, in the suburbs and in relaxing rural areas.

So if you’re thinking about moving to the area, come on down. We have a lot to offer.

And on behalf of those of us who are from here (yes we do exist), I’d like to welcome you to our little slice of paradise.
