Over the years I've seen many trends and fads in new home design. But one element has remained constant; the kitchen must be designed for functionality. 

State-of-the-art appliances are nice and fabulous backsplashes offer an elegant touch — but if it isn't comfortable to cook in it, then it’s nobody's dream kitchen.
