1. Richmond American Homes recently held an exclusive Realtor event at Sevilla, a new community at the World Commerce Center. About 200 industry pros attended the event and enjoyed entertainment, prizes, a progressive dinner and a limo tour. Richmond American staffers were on hand to answer questions. 2. Cliff Broughton, longtime cycling enthusiast and agent in Prudential Network Realty's Fleming Island office, has begun a 3,300-mile biking adventure that will take him from Jacksonville to California. The "Journey of Hope" is a fundraiser for the Donna Hicken Foundation, a local charity that assists women who have breast cancer. Broughton was inspired to undertake the 23-day trip when Terri Cline, wife of his manager Don Cline, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Broughton, shown receiving a goodbye kiss from Terri Cline, hopes his efforts will raise at least $20,000.

3. Don Wilford, president of ICI Homes North Florida Division, was one of six people recently honored as a "Mentor of the Year" by the National Mentoring Partnership during ceremonies held at the White House. Wilford had previously been named Florida State Mentor of the Year for his work with jailed juveniles. Wilford (right) is shown with "mentee" Adam Hutchinson. Each mentee received a $5,000 scholarship.

4. The Associated General Contractors of Florida recently named the W.G. Pitts Company as winner of its 2006 Horizon Award. The award was for the construction of Camp Heritage, the amenity center at D.R. Horton's Heritage Landing, a gated, 680-acre community at World Golf Village. The Horizon Award recognizes excellence in project management and client service, innovative construction techniques and materials, sensitivity to the environment and commitment to the community. Keith Hyatt has been appointed regional land acquisition manager for Taylor Woodrow Communities. He'll be responsible for acquiring land from Savannah, Ga., through Jacksonville" target="_blank">Flagler County and South Daytona for the company's homebuilding and multifamily divisions. .Matt Wilkinson has been promoted to director of sales and marketing for Lennar's "Everything's Included" program in Jacksonville. Wilkinson was previously in new-home sales for the company. .Marielle Rodriguez-Toyens has been promoted to vice president of finance and accounting for The Pineapple Corporation, a Jacksonville-based custom-home builder. She had previously been controller for the company. .Ed Blakely has been appointed regional manager of LandMar Group LLC's Southeast Georgia Division. He'll supervise active communities and those under development as well as acquisition. He had previously been a homebuilder in South Carolina.
