1. Daniel Davis, executive director of the Northeast Florida Builders Association, was recently installed as vice president of the Jacksonville City Council. Accompanied by his wife Rebekah, Davis was sworn in by Chief Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida Donald R. Moran Jr. Davis took the oath of office in a ceremony held in the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts.

2. The St. Joe Company recently broke ground on RiverTown, a 4,170-acre development in St. Johns County. Upon completion, RiverTown will include 4,500 homes, three schools, parks and a town center. Shown left to right are: St. Johns County Commissioner Cyndi Stevenson, St. Joe Towns and Resorts President Britt Greene, Commissioner Karen Stern, Commissioner Jim Bryant and Nick Cassala, vice president and project manager of St. Joe North Florida Residential Operations.

3. Cordele Builders, along with NEFBA's Builders Care and numerous vendors and suppliers, recently renovated the home of injured motorcyclists John and Michelle Bell, who were involved in an accident that resulted in both riders losing a leg. In less than a week, the Bell family home was modified to accommodate their injuries, with wider doorways and hallways, a kitchen with lowered cabinetry and wheelchair-specific appliances, a laundry room with wheelchair-height washer, dryer and folding racks, and a master bedroom and bath with a wheelchair-ready shower complete with ramp and seat.

4. Students from the Department of Interior Design Technology at the Florida Community College at Jacksonville are among the designers on the Jacksonville Symphony Guild's 2006 Bank of America Symphony Showhouse. The FCCJ crew will be responsible for decking out a garage.The event will be held from Oct. 7 to 22 in the Springfield neighborhood. Participating students include, front to back, left to right: Grace Arbizo, Mandy Martin, Vicki Duprey, Richard Furlow, Kate Smith and Jennifer Hibbard-Perez. SRG Homes & Communities is building this year's showhouse, which is actually four homes, each reflecting a different theme.

Amber King has been named North Florida Marketing Director for D.R. Horton, where her responsibilities will include overseeing all marketing efforts for Duval, St. Johns, Clay, Volusia, Marion and Brevard counties. .CornerStone Homes has named Ron Harris as director of sales and marketing. Harris, who was most recently a sales consultant with Arthur Rutenberg Homes, is also a certified general contractor and a certified real estate broker. . Amber Williams has been named marketing director for Standard Pacific Homes. Williams, who was previously with D.R. Horton, will handle Standard Pacific's marketing in Duval, Clay, Nassau, and St. Johns counties. Wells Fargo Home Mortgage has added Mark E. Carlson to its team as branch manager. Carlson will head a new branch office to open in September.
