ASID MEMBERS BRING TALENT, TRAINING AND PROFESSIONALISM TO EVERY PROJECT THEY TACKLE
Interior design is a profession that doesn’t always get the respect it deserves. That’s be- cause not everyone understands what interior designers actually do.
There’s a lot more to it than selecting which throw pillows complement which upholstery hue. Interior designers are highly trained professionals who must have not only an aesthetic sense but also knowledge of space planning, building materials, construction techniques and even environmental friendliness.
That’s why we’re proud to once again present the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Florida North Chapter Membership Directory and Buyer’s Guide.
This valuable resource explains what interior designers do and how they do it. It also offers tips on selecting an interior designer and provides a listing of local designers who are ASID members. That affiliation, and what it represents, provides consumers with peace of mind.
Also in this issue, we shine the spotlight on Tom Trout Inc., a family owned contracting firm that celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Not many businesses endure for 50 years and are passed from generation to generation.
But Tom Trout Inc., founded by Tom Trout Jr. and now led by his son, Tom Trout III, is an exception. It’s a feel-good story, for sure, but it’s also a fascinating look at one of Jacksonville’s most interesting families.
Plus, be sure to check out our special feature on the 33rd Annual Realtor-Builder Tradeshow. This exciting event, dubbed “Game On!”, takes its theme from the world of sports — football, to be more specific — and promises to be exciting and informative, as always.
Finally, you’ll also find our directory of the region’s top new-home communities and up-to-date school grades. If you’re in the market to buy a new home or remodel your current home, you’ll find what you need right here. Enjoy!
