1. Trident Realty Corp recently celebrated the opening of its new condominium community, The Waverly at Deerwood Commons, located on Jacksonville’s Southside. More than 150 people attended the event. Guests were treated to music by a three-piece jazz band and gourmet cuisine. 2. The 2006 Good Neighbor Awards, co-sponsored by Jacksonville Homebuyer and the Northeast Florida Builders Association, recognized 25 builders and developers who made a difference in the community. Last year’s event sponsors, which included Jeff Zimmerman of Bank of America (far left), Nancy Love of Woodsman Kitchens and Floors (second to the left) and Gene Frogale of Annandale Millwork/Allied Systems (second from the right), recently presented a $10,000 check to the Arnold Tritt Scholarship Fund, which was the beneficiary of the event. Accepting the check were Arnold Tritt of NEFBA (center) and Glenn Layton of Woodside Communities of North Florida (far right), who serves as the chairman of the scholarship committee. The 2007 Good Neighbor Awards will be held June 13.

3. Brylen Homes recently held a Realtor event to debut its new model home, The Huntington, at Port St. John in northwest St. Johns County. 4. More than 500 Realtors and invited guests attended the opening of the Atlantis model by CornerStone Homes in Austin Park at Nocatee in St. Johns County. Attendees were entered into drawings for prizes and gifts, including the chance to win a grand prize of $25,000. In addition, Rick Ray (center) of The Parc Group, developer of the master-planned community, conducted an informal overview of the project. Also present were Mark Downing (left) and Cliff Gray (right), managing partners of CornerStone Homes.

Joan Refosco has been promoted to vice president of sales at Arthur Rutenberg Homes/Marcus Allen Homes. She joined the company in 2003 and was previously one of its top sales consultants. In her new role, Refosko will develop a customer-care program, recruit and train new sales consultants and oversee advertising and marketing. ... Hunter Valmont Public Relations recently won Gold and Platinum awards at the internationally prestigious 2006 MarCom Creative Awards. The firm was honored for its excellence and creativity in marketing. Hunter Valmont is the firm’s founder and president. ... Lyn Sappington was named Sales Agent of the Year for 2006 by Davidson Realty at the company’s annual banquet. Sappington boasted more than $10 million in total sales as well as $12 million in closings. She joined the company in 2004 and has been the top sales agent numerous times. ... The Northeast Florida Builders Association has recently promoted Portland Stuart to membership director. Stuart was previously director of NEFBA’s Sales & Marketing Council. In her new role, she’ll concentrate on attracting new members as well as member retention and member benefits.
