CAMDEN COUNTY
Laurel Island Plantation has just launched two new communities: Settlers Hammock and Fiddlers Reserve. Settlers Hammock features homes priced starting in the high $100s while Fiddler’s Reserve is Jacksonville" target="_blank">Camden County’s only 55-plus community. Homes at Fiddler’s Cove are priced starting at $270,000.

CLAY COUNTY
Standard Pacific Homes has opened its newest model in Eagle Landing. The 2,732-square-foot Fairway II offers four bedrooms and three bathrooms on the ground 
floor with an upstairs bonus room boasting a full bathroom and a walk-in closet. The Fairway II is priced from $379,900.

Taylor Morrison has notched an impressive 32 new-home sales in Kindlewood, the builder’s Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) in Jacksonville" target="_blank">Clay County. “This is a phenomenal start and we look forward to continued sales within the community,” says Jeb Koury, vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison in North Florida. The builder has three move-in-ready homes priced from $141,990.

DUVAL COUNTY
A joint venture that included ICI Homes and Beazer Homes re-cently opened a new $2.7 million fire station on Beach Boulevard adjacent to the new community of Tamaya. Rosemary Messina, vice president of sales and marketing at ICI Homes, said that Beach Boulevard Ventures LLC paid for the new four-bay fire station to replace an antiquated two-bay station.

Collins Builders is enjoying success with three communities on Jacksonville’s fast-growing Northside including Bainbridge Estates, Dunns Creek Plantation and Hayden Lakes. The scenic Northside is becoming more popular because of its proximity to shopping and dining and its easy access to downtown Jacksonville. Homes in the three Collins communities range in price from the $130s to the $150s and up.

The Pineapple Corporation has debuted a new floorplan in The Bellissimo Collection, a series of semi-custom homes priced from the high $300, at its European-styled Palermo community. The two-story Bellissimo 3 has 3,398 square feet of living space with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a two-and-a-half car garage. Palermo offers an intimate neighborhood setting with exceptional community amenities, including a recreational facility with multi-purpose rooms, fitness facility, swimming pool and pavilion for grilling.?

The Peninsula on the Southbank has become the first—and only—condominium development in North Florida to receive approval under strict new guidelines set forth by Fannie Mae, thus making Fannie Mae loan money available for purchasers of units in the highrise. Developer American Land Ventures worked with lender Derrick Levy for several months on the difficult and time-consuming approval process. The regulations require that a project must be at least 70 percent closed and have no more than 30 percent investor concentration and no more than 15 percent delinquencies on dues or assessments, among other conditions.

D.R. Horton has been named America’s top-ranking homebuilder in terms of homes closed by Builder magazine. The company has topped the magazine’s Builder 100 survey for seven consecutive? years. “Our national

Horton also is the number one builder in Northeast Florida, a multiple Parade of Homes and Laurel Award winner and a recipient of the Northeast Florida Builders Association’s (NEFBA) prestigious Builder of the Year award.?

The newly-completed Tapestry Park European Village has won the Mixed-Use Project of the Year Award from the Northeast Florida Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP). Developed by Tapestry Park Commercial Venture LLC, the distinctive 60,000-square-foot project is the Southside’s first neotraditional mixed-use development.

ST.?JOHNS COUNTY
Toll Brothers, the nation’s leading builder of luxury homes, recently welcomed its 100th family— the Catts—to Coastal Oaks at Nocatee. A change in employment relocated the family to the Jacksonville area.? Darryl and Debbie Catts looked at several communities and talked to many builders before selecting Coastal Oaks, where Toll Brothers offers four single-family home collections, including Legacy, Ambassador, Estate and Signature, and the Carriage townhome collection. Homes range in size from 1,642 to more than 4,200 square feet and are priced starting in the upper $200s.

Construction on the first phase of the Nocatee Preserve is scheduled to start in the coming months. The Preserve encompasses 2,400 acres spanning more than three miles along the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway. The land was donated to the county in 2006 by the The PARC Group, developers of Nocatee. The first phase of the project includes a trailhead that will feature parking facilities for cars and equestrian trailers, restrooms and a picnic area.

FLAGLER COUNTY
ABD Development Company plans to start construction of a new luxury model home at Toscana, the company’s private community in Palm Coast. The Courtyard model was recently judged best in its price range during the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando’s Parade of Homes. The home, with 4,207 square feet of living area, features a spectacular indoor courtyard with more than 1,000 square feet dedicated to a pool and spa area, a lanai and a pool room. It’s priced under $1 million. Other homes in Toscana are priced from the $300s.

NASSAU COUNTY
KB Home just opened a new model home in Timber Creek showcasing the new Open Series family of floorplans. The model featured is a 1,773-square-foot home with a large living/dining area and up to five bedrooms. It’s priced in the $150s.

The Parents Television Council has awarded its Entertainment Seal of Approval for a documentary showing how a foster family was helped by Builders Care, NEFBA’s charitable arm. “The Page-Bailie Bunch” episodes were part of a home makeover TV series called Building a Difference, which is produced by Jacksonville-based DeepLight Entertainment. Melisa Page Bailie, the makeover beneficiary, has taken in more than 200 foster children.
