What's New for 2010

Many Northeast Florida builders and developers have tagged 2010 as a year of recovery and renewal. And they’ve announced some exciting new designs, directions and communities to attract today’s more discerning and educated buyers.

CornerStone Homes has introduced a new collection of innovative floorplans highlighting the company’s innovative design style and energy efficient-features—and best of all, prices are under $150,000. ?

The new plans will be available in all communities where CornerStone Homes builds. In addition, they can be constructed on private homesites.

CornerStone’s’ new designs offer one- and two-story floor-plans ranging in size from 1,200 square feet and priced from ?

EAGLE HOMES

Building on his success in Jacksonville" target="_blank">Clay County’s Pine Ridge community, builder Jim Riley, president and owner of Eagle Homes, is expanding into MuraBella in St. Johns County. There the company will offer homes priced from the $190s in the resort-style community, located across from the King & Bear at World Golf Village.

Construction will soon begin on Eagle’s two-story Hawthorn model, priced at $267,440. The 2,568-square-foot home features five bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, a study and a three-car garage with a service door. It also boasts a stucco exterior with stonework on the front and is located on a spacious 22,000-square-foot lot.

The price includes options and upgrades such as a large covered rear patio, a fireplace, a luxury master bath with a garden tub and a separate walk-in shower. A luxury kitchen features granite countertops, 42-inch cabinets and a breakfast bar. ?

SUMMER POINT

KB Home has announced the opening of its newest community in St. Augustine, Summer Point, which offers nine floorplans ranging in size from 1,236 to 2,865 square feet with three to five bedrooms. ?

The one- and two-story designs are from The Open Series, KB Home’s new generation of Built to Order homes that are affordably priced to compete with resales and foreclosures. The new designs are highlighted by great rooms and open spaces in the areas where people spend most of their time: the kitchen, dining and family living area.

VILLAGES OF VALENCIA

Another Woodside Homes project, Villages of Valencia, is now over 50 percent built out in its first phase. So the builder will be releasing Durango’s second phase, with 83 homesites, in 2010.

Single-family homes ranging in size from 1,250 to 2,200 square feet and starting at $95 per square foot will be offered. New plans are currently being developed to supplement the proven plans already available, such as the Sebastian. ?

Probably the most highly praised plan at Durango, the Sebastian is a conveniently designed single-story home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and more than 1,800 square feet. Starting at $189,900, the Sebastian includes a covered patio recessed for added privacy, a formal living and dining room and can easily be converted to a 4/3 for minimal cost. ?

New standard features will also be added to Durango’s single-family homes, including rounded corner bead at formal areas and true half-round and compound archways, providing a distinctly elegant look at an extremely affordable price. ?
